Abstract

|
The sleeve type fracture of the patellar in children which isan avulsion fractur of distal pole of patella occurs in immature skilaton and the incidence is extremely rare, about 1% of children's patellar fracture2). This fracture is a reason of
acute
patellar dislocation in children together with osteochondral fracture and marginal fracture.
Clinical importance of this fracture is difficulty in diagnosis because the distal small fragment withlarge articluar cartilage is not easily detected by radiograpy.
Therefore early optimal Treatment is also difficult.
This fact resulted in complication such as patella alta, continous knee joint pain, quadriceps atrophy.
The authors report two cases of patedllar fracture with early diagnosis, early sugical treatment and good result.
